Peer Review Process

All papers are fully peer reviewed. We publish only articles that have been reviewed and approved by highly qualified researchers with expertise in the field relevant to the article. We use a double-blind peer-review process. Detailed information on the flow from manuscript submission (author) to acceptance by the editor is shown in the following figure:

The author submits the paper to the journal through the online system. New users may register, and users who already have an account may log in directly.

Editorial and Peer-Review Procedure

1.      Initial Screening. All submitted manuscripts will be screened by the Managing Editor to determine whether they comply with the focus, scope, and template of the Journal of Social and Humanities Empowerment (SHE). Manuscripts that do not meet these basic requirements will be rejected without further review.

2.      Plagiarism Check. If the manuscript meets these criteria, it will be checked for plagiarism or duplicate publication using similarity-checking software (Turnitin).

3.      Peer Review. All manuscripts that pass the initial screening and plagiarism check will be distributed to two experts in the relevant field for double-blind peer review.

4.      First Decision. A decision on a peer-reviewed manuscript will be issued after both reviewers have submitted their review reports. If the two reviewers have different opinions about the manuscript, the final decision will be referred to the Editor-in-Chief. At this stage, the author will receive at least one of the following decisions: accepted without revision; accepted with minor revisions; accepted with major revisions; or rejected.

5.      Revision Stage. Manuscripts recommended for revision will be returned to the submitting author. Authors will have up to 2 weeks to revise the manuscript.

6.      Final Decision. All accepted manuscripts will undergo final editing and layout.

7.      Article Withdrawal. Withdrawal of an article during or after the peer-review process is not permitted because it wastes valuable resources. Therefore, a withdrawal fee of IDR 300,000 will be charged to cover editorial processing costs.
